I just learned to play Apples to Apples as a drinking game!
Instead of dumping the card of the player who last throws down a red card, the player who is last must take a drink! Also, the winner of the green card gets to assign a drink to whoever they want.
Ummmmmmm, I don't remember exactly if there is any special way to end the game with this variation. =)

Re: game variations
Wed, February 18, 2004 - 10:37 AMI have played it a similar way. Odd man out gets to drink, yes. But when the person selecting the winning card eliminates the other ones he does them in order....worst to best and puts them down one by one. for instance if there are 7 players.
1-reader
1-odd man out...he gets 3 drinks
5 cards in.
worst..4 drinks
next worst 3 drinks
next 2
runner up 1
winner gives one extra to whomever he pleases.
if you notice...worst card drinks more than the odd man out. makes for interesting card decisions. -

Re: game variations
Sun, February 29, 2004 - 10:01 AMWow, I interpret your game as two significant variations:
first, you rank the cards from best to worst, I've never played that....
second, you and your friends must get pretty sloshed pretty quickly in your game!!!

Re: game variations
Sun, February 29, 2004 - 11:03 PMso, these 3 and 4 drink designations, as with all the other drinks per turn are all nonalcoholic?? that makes a little bit more sense since any drinking game where someone has to take 4 swigs of their alcoholic drink will end up pretty sloshed quite quickly.
